Several new roads will be built to connect villages in various governorates in the country following instructions from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
A new allocation of RO40 million, ordered by Sultan Qaboos, will result in the construction of roads totaling 254km, Transport and Communications Minister Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi said.
“While the major infrastructure projects implemented by the government now are vital and strategic, the roads that connect villages, especially the remote ones are not less important,” he pointed out.
“These roads,” he added, “are crucial in meeting the direct needs of citizens and ensuring their security and smooth movement, besides promoting trade and business.”
