Qatar and the United Nations signed Monday an agreement to activate a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed in September 2011 which assists the UN for anti-corruption and establishes an international center in Doha with a view to supporting regional efforts made against corruption. HE Attorney General Dr. Ali Bin Fetais AI-Marri signed the agreement for the Qatari part while Amat Al-Alim Alsoswa, who is the Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme and Director of its Regional Bureau for Arab States, signed it on the UN\'s side. They also discussed the latest regional developments and efforts to support reforms made by the Arab countries. They also discussed the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between Qatar and the UN in the anti-corruption field. HE the Attorney General said that the latest changes in the region were a direct result of the Arab people\'s longing for freedom and justice. For her part, Alsoswa praised Qatar\'s role during the events. She also praised the country\'s cooperation with the UN Development Programme for anti-corruption. Based on the agreement, Doha will have the headquarters for the project, which received investments of up to $10 million.
