President Park Geun-hye said Wednesday that provincial regions should be in the driver's seat in drawing up regional development plans as the government announced a series of measures to bolster regional investment and development. "The first thing we have to keep in mind when drawing up regional development strategies is that each region has its own characteristics and conditions. Residents and their municipalities are the ones who best know the situation of the region," Park said during an investment promotion and regional development meeting.
