President Park Geun-hye named a former deputy governor of the Bank of Korea as the new chief of the central bank on Monday. Lee Ju-yeol, who entered the central bank in 1977 and served in various posts before retiring as deputy chief in 2012, was chosen to succeed Kim Choong-soo as BOK governor, presidential spokesman Min Kyung-wook said.
