Japan's industrial output rose by 0. 9 percent in December, compared with the previous month, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Monday.
The figure was revised down from a previous estimate of a 1.1 percent increase.
According to the ministry, the index of output at factories and mines stood at 100.1 against the base of 100 for 2010, while industrial shipments registered a 0.8 percent increase, revised upward from an initially reported 0.6 percent.
The industrial inventories index declined 0.5 percent.
