German business confidence posted a surprise gain in April, dpa quoted the Munich-based Ifo economic institute as saying. The Ifo indicator jumped to 111.2 points this month from 110.7 points in March. Analysts had expected a decline to 110.4. "The companies are again looking more confident towards future business developments," Ifo President Hans-Werner Sinn says. "Despite the crisis in Ukraine the positive mood continues."
