The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) hosted the first workshop for the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) planning team. The FCCI planning team is responsible for developing the proposed new strategy 2012-2016 for the Federation.
The project team, which is led by Prof Hadi El Tigani, CEO of Abu Dhabi International Centre for Organisational Excellence (Adicoe), consists of representatives from different UAE Chambers including Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry
In his welcome address, Atiq Juma Nasib, Senior Director, Commercial Services Sector, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed on the importance of the project, its objective and benefits to the members of Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
He said that on its part Dubai Chamber supports this project and will contribute to the development of the strategy, which aims at developing technical and administrative policies based on best international standards.
Nasib lauded the professional approach of the team and wished them all the success in the project.
On his part, Prof. Tigani highlighted the project organisation, its dynamics, scope, timeline and deliverables, as well as its critical success factors, and next steps. He said the new strategy will cement the Federation’s role as a supporter to the business community in UAE and will be based on the best international practices. He added that the team will launch an interactive communication online system which will help the team members to communicate better, pointing out that the exchange of expertise will help in the process of developing the strategy of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
The federation consists of the chambers of commerce and industry existing in the U.A.E. Starting from the ambitions of the FCCI to realize its aims in accordance with the next stage, the FCCI has adopted many mechanisms of work. Some of them are: Activate and announce the activities and functions of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry on the internal and external levels.
Directly affecting the economic policies directed on achieving economic boom in order to win the admiration of the officials since the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry has a complementary role to the federal government and its institutions.
