Egypt's stock of wheat is sufficient to meet the local demand until mid June, Supply Minister Mohamed Abu-Shady has said."Egypt is the largest wheat importer in the world as it consumes 15 million tons per year," Abu-Shady said during his visit to Qalubiya province on Thursday.The minister was accompanied by Qalubiya governor Mohamed Abdel-Zaher.During the visit, the minister and governor inaugurated new silos in Obour and Khanka to store wheat with a capacity 96,000 tons.
