Childbirths in South Korea fell for the 10th straight month in October, adding to the growing concern over the country's chronically low birth rate, a government report showed Thursday. According to the report by Statistics Korea, the number of babies born in October came to about 36,200, down 13.6 percent or 5,700 from the same month a year earlier. This marked the 10th straight month that childbirths have declined.
