Burundi has ratified a loan agreement of 14.98 million U.S. dollars with the Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank), according to an official statement. The loan will be channelled towards the construction of a metropolitan Internet network in Burundi. "The objective of this funding agreement is to modernize communication by improving access to the Internet network," the statement said Friday. The loan agreement between the Burundian government and China Exim Bank was signed on Dec. 20, 2013.
