Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)intends to organize a marketing festival at the old market area in Manama coinciding with the activities of Formula One Grand Prix which will be hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain next April, through the cooperation and partnership with several ministries and governmental bodies in addition to a number of private sector companies and institutions in the framework of the efforts exerted by the BCCI to support and revive the old commercial activities of the market of Manama. The BCCI’s chairman Dr. Essam Abdulla Fakhro said that after the recent developments witnessed in Bahrain, such as the emergence of large commercial malls, the change in consumption patterns and consumer’s trends, the lack of an integrated service system and availability of car parks, as well as the recent events witnessed in Bahrain, the old market of Manama was negatively affected and struggled, which have necessitated the BCCI to focus on creating a program of action designed to highlight the current difficult situation of the old market and to adopt actions to re-establish its old bright days. Dr. Fakhro praised the cooperation and support delivered by the ministries and governmental bodies to make this project successful for the benefit of the Kingdom.
