The governments of Kosovo and Albania on Saturday signed an agreement on strategic cooperation and partnership in Prizren, south of Kosovo. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the strategic document will affect directly the lives of their peoples. The two sides confirmed their commitment to "strengthening of cooperation and intensification of inter-government dialogue about all issues of mutual interest." Efforts will also be made to deepen cooperation of the law enforcement institutions and exchange of experience in the process of the institutional reform. There will be a greater cooperation in border control, fight against trafficking, organized crime and corruption. It is defined that joint meetings of the two governments will take place annually on the basis of a regular calendar on rotation principle. The Common Economic Commission will act as the main mechanism in the bilateral economic relations and trade exchanges. It will act as the main mechanism for strengthening of cooperation in the energy sector to develop and implement joint projects in this field.
