An overnight rise in the Dow Jones industrial average and a pause in the dollar\'s fall against the yen prompted investors to buy back blue chips, according to (Nikkei) website. Dip-buying also supported the rise, as the benchmark index had fallen 322 points over the previous three trading days through Wednesday. Trading value on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange totaled 1.47 trillion yen on a preliminary basis.
