Singapore stocks finished higher on Thursday after the Labor Day public holiday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 34.21 points, or 1.02 percent, to close at 3,402.39. A total of 2.23 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 89 billion Singapore dollars (1.54 billion U.S. dollars). Decliners outnumbered gainers 234 to 221, while 491 others finished unchanged. The STI index gained 6.26 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 3,368.18 on Tuesday.
