Nikkei rebounded sharply for 1.53 percent Tuesday, ending four days of recession. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average closed up 208.69 points from Monday at 13,869.82. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 20.08 points, at 1,148.53. The turnover was about 2244.9 billion yen (about 22.88 billion U.S. dollars).
