Nikkei opened 0.91 percent higher Wednesday as the risk-averse mood relieved due to sound U.S. economic data and a rebound in gold prices. At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 119.70 points, or 0.91 percent, from Tuesday to 13,341.14. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 13.02 points, or 1.16 percent, to 1, 132.22.
