Nikkei ended with a more than 2- percent surge on Tuesday, as concerns over a bailout plan for cash- strapped Cyprus eased. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 247.60 points, or 2. 03 percent, from Monday to 12,468.23. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 17.55 points, or 1.71 percent, to 1, 045.89. Almost all 33 sectors gained and led by the sea transport, land transport and electric machinery sectors, while mining was the only decliner. The turnover was about 1,946.4 billion yen (about 20.36 billion U.S. dollars).
