Nikkei ended 0.28 percent lower Tuesday amid a sense of overheating by investors. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 34.24 points, or 0.28 percent, from Monday to 12,314.81. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.08 points, or 0.39 percent, at 1,035.90. Decliners included securities, warehouse and oil sectors. Gainers included steel, mining and whole sale issues. The turnover was about 2,818.9 billion yen (about 29.22 billion U.S. dollars).
