Nikkei closed lower on Wednesday in Tokyo, as investors\' lingering fears over eurozone debt crisis. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 88.36 points, or 0.78 percent, from Tuesday to 11,310.45. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 7.19 points, or 0.74 percent, to 959. 58. Decliners were automakers, insurance and mining firms, while gainers were warehouse, construction and airlines. The turnover was about 1,848.7 billion yen (about 20.14 billion U.S. dollars).
