The benchmark index of the Indian equities market closed lower on Friday with the 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, closing at 19,164.02 points, 153.17 points or 0.79 percent lower from the previous close of 19,317.19 points. The Sensex had a turnover of 3.94 billion rupees (about 65.68 million U.S. dollars).
