The German Bundestag last night approved a bilateral agreement on exchange of information on tax matters with the United States, in an effort by the two countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fight against tax evasion and fraud. The agreement requires the automatic exchange of bank data in order to prevent the circumvention of the tax.
