The benchmark index of the Indian equities market opened lower on Wednesday with the 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, opening at 19,347.11 points, 116.71 points or 0.59 percent, lower from the previous close of 19,463.82 points.
