LG Electronics, the world\'s fifth- largest mobile phone maker, said Monday that it aims to sell 40 million smartphones this year based on the success of its four Optimus series. The South Korean tech behemoth set its quarterly smartphone sales target at 10 million units in 2013, while more than doubling sales of high-speed long term evolution (LTE) devices, according to an e-mailed statement. The sales goal will be achieved through sales of its four Optimus series. After launching Optimus G in September 2012, LG added its new Optimus G Pro model to the Optimus G series. The Optimus G Pro is a fourth-generation (4G) LTE smartphone with a 5. 5-inch Full HD display. The company said that Optimus Vu: series will offer users the viewing experience of a tablet with a 5-inch, 4:3 aspect ratio display, noting that Optimus F series will help consumers make transitions from third-generation (3G) to 4G LTE networks. Optimus L2 series contain LG\'s unique L-Style design, the company said, adding that the models feature new design elements such as seamless layout, laser cut contour and a home button with LED lighting.
