Russian third seed Maria Sharapova secured her third singles title at the Italian Open after coming from a set behind to beat Spaniard Carla Suarez 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.

This latest success in Rome came after she claimed her second successive title in 2012 with victory over Li Na.
