Makatifoods Pinbusters were near perfect on the way to their consecutive Team of the Week awards and third overall, the most of any team, during the eighth session in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) Friday Afternoon League First Season 2012 at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.
Makatifoods followed its remarkable performance of the previous week with an even better showing, totaling 29 points on the day after crushing Current Bowlers 19-1 on total pinfalls of 2,301 and 2,058 for rank points of 10 and 2. Fed & AAA is the only team thus far to have achieved the perfect score of 30 points on the second week of the tournament organized by OFBC in cooperation with IN-10-SO bowling manager Hani “King” Al Touhki.
Cool Guys remain untouched at the top team standings after coming second to Makatifoods on 21 points with a 12-8 victory over The Youngsters (14) on total pinfalls of 2,205-2.154 and rank points of 9 and 6.
Fed & AAA, currently in third place behind Cool Guys and Makatifoods, totaled 15 with a 12-8 (2,095-2,147) victory over PCG-Jeddah in a match that marked the debut game of its rookie bowler Mia Cedotes who got excited when she made a split conversion (8 and 10, 7 and 8).
In the other match, RJ Transient Houses brought down The Transferee 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,155-2,173, rank points of 7 and 8 and totals of 19 and 16.
The top individual performers of the week were Malou Nidoy of RJ and Tito Cruz of Transferee who rolled 571 and 622.
Team captain Vovstone led by example at Makatifoods shooting the high score of 618 on lines of 168, 203 and 202. Carling Constantino backed up Vovstone with 600, while Christine Stone and Benj Espinosa added 545 and 538.
Salic Mudag shot 601 at the helm of Cool Guys, who also netted 573 from George Mangaliman, 532 from Mac Galang, 157-123 from Med Ramos and 114 from Eidris Mangoda.
Skipper Rudy Jamon made sure Malou’s effort don’t go to waste at RJ when he scored 561 to go with the 552 by Lourdes Punzalan and 471 by Joel Nidoy.
The leading scorers at Fed were team captain Khalid Bustinera 563, Rudy Valenzuela 549 and Ed Cordova 516. Fedelyn Bustinera contributed 122-115 and Cedotes 110.
