Excitement is mounting in the football crazy Kerala town of Kannur ahead of the arrival of Argentine legend Diego Maradona on October 23 to exhibit his skills and inaugurate a showroom. Maradona will be in Kannur for a few hours and attend three functions - opening of a showroom of Chemmanur International Jewellers, inaugurate the helicopter services of Chemmanur Airlines and play some football at the municipal stadium. Maradona is coming to the southern state on the invitation of his friend, industrialist Bobby Chemmanur who first met him a year ago in Dubai and they have been friends since then. After the functions, Maradona will fly back to Dubai.
