Belarussian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei

Belarus has praised the role played by Egypt to achieve stability in the Middle East region.
Emerging from talks with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry in Minsk, Belarussian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said "It is impossible to genuinely stabilize the Middle East without Egypt."
Belarussian news agency BelTA quoted Makei as saying: “We are convinced that it is impossible to ensure genuine stability and tranquility in the Middle East without Egypt's participation. Egypt plays a pivotal role in this region. It has been confirmed by the concrete political actions the country's leaders take.”
Makei underlined that Belarus sees Egypt as an important regional and international political player. “The fact that Egypt is home to 95 million people is self-explanatory. It is a powerful country. Egypt is indeed a major regional and international player,” said the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs.
According to the diplomat, while resolving conflicts in the Middle East, it is important to observe and implement the documents, which have been developed earlier by the United Nations Organization.
Earlier, Shoukry handed over a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
