Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr

Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr had a meeting on Monday with a delegation grouping the most prominent media representatives Germany on means of promoting tourism in Egypt.

The recent archaeological discoveries in Luxor will beef up the number of tourists visiting it, the governor said.

He added the Egyptian side is currently working on boosting cultural tourism in Luxor city via establishing an opera house and a Chinese garden, in cooperation with the Chinese side, as well as an international conference hall and a center for Egyptology.

As for charter flights, the governor said that direct flights from Japan's Osaka Airport to Luxor Airport have returned.

On April 23, Luxor International Airport received the first Japanese flight after a months-long hiatus.

The Japanese flights to Luxor are regarded a wonderful step forward for regaining the influx of tourists in the ancient city.
