A wildcat attacked and killed a worker at WildCat Haven Sanctuary in Sherwood, Ore., the Clakamas County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities said the employee died Saturday after being attacked by one of the animals, but declined to release other details, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Saturday.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue officials said the victim was a 35-year-old woman.
The organization's website said the facility was a last-hope sanctuary for more than 60 captive-born wildcats that are neglected, abandoned or abused. The facility houses bobcats, caracals, cougars, lynx, servals, tigers and hybrids.
