The US-led coalition against the daesh carried out 25 airstrikes on Sunday in Iraq and Syria, including near the city of Palmyra, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced in a statement, Sputnik reported.
"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted nine strikes using ground-attack, attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft against Daesh [Islamic State] targets," the statement said on Monday.
The coalition’s airstrikes were launched near four Syrian towns, including Al Shadaddi, Manbij, Mar’a and Palmyra, and destroyed multiple Daesh tactical units, fighting positions and weapons.
Iraqi towns, including Fallujah, Hit, Mosul and Sinjar, and destroyed multiple Daesh-assembly areas, fighting positions, six tunnel entrances, two bridges as well as a number of vehicles.
In Iraq, coalition forces carried out 16 airstrikes near nine cities, including the Daesh stronghold of Mosul.
