Tropical Storm Harvey goes beyond Houston city

Impact of Tropical Storm Harvey extended beyond Houston city and affected about 50 districts of Texas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator Brock Long said on Monday.
In a press conference, Long said that Tropical Storm Harvey is expected to drive 30,000 people into shelters and spur 450,000 victims to seek some sort of disaster assistance, CNN reported.
"This is a landmark event for the US," said FEMA Administrator Brock Long adding that Texas has never seen an event like this.
"It's going to require the citizens getting involved," said Long.
Harvey came ashore late on Friday as the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years and has killed at least two people.
The death toll is expected to rise as the storm triggers additional tidal surges and tornadoes, with parts of the region expected to see a year's worth of rainfall in the span of a week.
