Suicide attack in Afghan

A suicide attack targeted a base for foreign contract workers in Kabul on Tuesday morning, killing at least two security guards, The New York Times quoted the authorities as saying.
The attack involved a truck laden with gravel and explosives, which detonated near the gate of the base in the northeastern part of the capital, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, Sediq Sediqqi, said.
The explosion could be heard across the city. The Taliban claimed credit for the attack.
Sediqqi said that at least two people were killed, both private Afghan security guards, and that several people were wounded.
He said there were at least three attackers, all of whom died in the explosion.
There has been a series of suicide attacks in Kabul over the past week and a half, ending a period of relative calm.
