Plane practicing for New York Air Show crashes

A small aerobatic plane crashed Friday while practicing for an air show in New York, killing the pilot, officials said, UPI reported.

The plane crashed around 2 p.m. local time at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor. The pilot was preparing for the New York Air Show to be held this weekend.

A county official confirmed to WABC in New York that the pilot was killed. It was not immediately clear if anyone on the ground was injured.
