Two soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing by suspected militants in the southern Philippines, dpa cited the military as saying Saturday.

The soldiers were securing a road for the passage of a military convoy when the bomb exploded in Ungkaya Pukan town in Basilan province, 900 kilometres south of Manila.
