At least two persons including a woman were killed and fifteen sustained injuries as the engine and four bogies of the Karokaram Express derailing overturned near Bandhi railway station on Wednesday morning in Pakistan, (Geo News) reported.
Sources said that the Karokaram Express was on way to Karachi from Faisalabad when its engine and four bogies were derailed and overturned near Bandhi railway station, leaving two, including a woman, dead and 15 wounded.
The local people on self-help basis rescued the passengers from the overturned bogies, especially from the bogey no.1 badly damaged. The injured were shifted to Bandhi and Daur hospitals.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Kathia said that emergency has been declared in the Nawabshah People’s Medical Hospital besides Daur and Bandhi hospitals.
Following the accident, the up and down train traffic remains suspended.
