A total of 96 Taliban militants including a Taliban commander Mullah Abdullah alias Shad Gul have been killed in Afghanistan during series of operations over the past 24 hours, Ministry of Interior said in a statement released here on Sunday.
According to the statement, 56 more militants sustained injuries and 12 others were arrested during the operations.
The statement didn't say whether there were any casualties on the side of the security forces.
The Taliban is yet to make comments.
