At least 20 people were confirmed dead as a result of a huge fire that broke out at a privately-run coal mine in Soma district, Manisa province, west Turkey, on Tuesday, TV reports showed. Around 300 mine workers are believed to be trapped underground, NTV news channel reported this evening.
