Mexico earthquake

At least one person was killed when an earthquake measuring 6.9 degrees on the Richter scale struck Mexico on Monday, local authorities said.
The quake occurred at 6:23 a.m. local time (1123 GMT) with the epicenter at a depth of 60 kilometers, 47 kilometers southwest of Tapachula, Chiapas, said the National Seismological Service.
The State System of Civil Protection of Chiapas said the deceased was identified as Jose Molina in Huixtla Township, Soconusco region.
The roof of the Tapachula Airport was damaged, but there was no immediate report of casualties.
In the region of Soconusco, several homes were affected, introducing cracks in walls and ceilings.
In Mexico City, a tree fell onto a taxi due to the temblor. The driver and passenger were taken to a hospital.
