Flood in southern Turkey

Two tourists were killed, while eight others injured in a rain-turned-flood that swashed the southern Mugla province of Turkey, local Dogan News Agency reported Monday.
About 46 tourists, including some from aboard, were trapped in Saklikent Canyon in Seydikemer district late Sunday due to a sudden torrential rain pour, said the report.
One of the tourists was killed on spot as flood waters smashed him onto some rocks, while the body of another tourist, who went missing after being whirled away by the flood, was found early Monday, according to a local official.
Eight other tourists got injured as they tried to rescue those who were trapped in the water. The mayor of the Seydikemer district said they would dispatch a medical team to the canyon so as to provide essential care should such scenario occur in the future.
