Ukraine's artillery fiercely bombarded Donetsk city, leading to a huge explosion there, Russian television said Tuesday.
It added that at least 17 people were killed and 43 others injured due to that artillery fire over the last two days in the eastern Ukrainian city of Gorlovka.
Gorlovka is located just 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) from Donetsk, the main staging area for pro-Russian separatist militias who are fighting forces loyal to Kiev in eastern Ukraine.
Separatists' sources said that at least 1200 people have been killed since the flare-up fighting last February.
