It has been confirmed that seven of the eight people involved in a fatal vehicle collision in Gansu Province, northwest China, had died as of Saturday morning, local authorities said.

Four people died at the scene, and another four were injured when the unlicensed tricycle they were riding collided with a truck at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday in Tianshui City.

As of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, three of the injured had died in hospital. The remaining person has unthreatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
