Six people were confirmed dead and one injured after a coal mine gas blast on Saturday night in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities said. The accident occurred at Hongxing Coal Mine in Pu'an county of Qianxinan prefecture, according to the county government. The injured person has been rushed to a hospital, according to (Xinhua) news agency. An investigation into the cause of the blast is under way. The Hongxing Coal Mine has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes.
