Police said the burned body of a child was found in the rubble of a Southern California home where a woman was slain and her two children were last seen.
San Diego Sheriff\'s Lt. Glenn Giannantonio said officials don\'t know if the body is 8-year-old Ethan Anderson\'s or if it could be that of another child who has yet to be identified.
Ethan and his 16-year-old sister, Hannah, were reported missing Sunday by their grandparents. Police found the body of Christina Anderson, 44 -- Hannah and Ethan\'s mother -- Sunday while extinguishing a fire at the home of James DiMaggio, 40.
Police issued an Amber alert for the two children, who they say may have been abducted by DiMaggio.
Brett Anderson, the father of Hannah and Ethan, pleaded Tuesday for the return of his children, CNN reported.
\"Jim, I can\'t fathom what you were thinking. The damage is done. I\'m begging you to let my daughter go. You\'ve taken everything else,\" he told reporters.
\"Hannah, we all love you very much. If you have a chance, you take it, you run. You\'ll be found,\" Brett added, causing speculation the burned body of a child could be Ethan\'s since he didn\'t refer to his younger child in the plea.
The children\'s aunt, Andrea Saincome, told HLN\'s \"Raising America\" DiMaggio was a close family friend of the Andersons\' and it wasn\'t unusual for Christine and the children to be at his house.
