At least two people died and a number of others injured in a blast that rocked the south Philippine province of North Cotabato on Sunday night, said a military officer.
Citing initial information, Army 6th Infantry Division public affairs officer Jo-ann Petinglay said the bomb was an improvised explosive device.
Petinglay said the bomb exploded at the town plaza of M'lang town around 7:35 p.m., leaving "two killed and an undetermined number of others wounded."
A military report said a team from the Army's 7th Infantry Battalion and intelligence operatives cordoned the area, pending the arrival of an explosive and ordnance disposal team.
