At least six people were killed by a landslide in heavy rain on the Indonesian island of Java early Tuesday, a news report issued here today said.Eight people were missing, after heavy rain from late Monday caused the landslide that buried three houses in Jombang district’s village of Ngrimbi, the district police chief said in a statement carried by the Jakarta Globe.Earlier Monday night , an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia’s city of Yogyakarta but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.The epicenter of the quake was in the Indian Ocean 68 km southwest of Kebumen city in Central Java at a depth of 33 km, (Antara) news agency quoted head of the data and information section of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) office in Yogyakarta Toni A Wijaya as saying.
