At least five people were killed and two were missing during heavy rains in southern Bangladesh, dpa cited official as saying Saturday.

The Bandarban region became isolated from the rest of the country due to damage from the severe tropical storm.

Rescuers were searching for the missing villagers.

The national meteorological department warned of more landslides as the storm persists.
