Kathmandu - XINHUA
A day after 10 people were killed in a jeep accident in a remote district of Nepal, at least one people was killed and four others feared dead when a bus heading to Kathmandu met with an accident at Narayangadh-Muglin road section early Wednesday morning.
Twenty six others are seriously injured in the passenger bus mishap in Chandibhanjyang VDC-5 at around 6 a.m. \"The four people have been squeezed and have not yet been rescued,\" Rohit Dulal, sub inspection of Muglin Area Police Office, Muglin told Xinhua, adding those squeezed are most likely dead.
The night bus departed from Dharan-Nepal\'s eastern city- veered off the road and fell some 50 feet down the Khahare River. According to the sources, none of the casualties have been identified so far.
Dulal said all injured had been rushed to Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan and are undergoing treatment.
Primary investigation suggests the bus suffered the ill-fate after the driver fell asleep and the bus collided with a nearby house.
Road accidents in Nepal, especially in the remote part, are normal events given the poor road conditions and higher numbers of passengers the transports serve.
