At least eight people were killed and 40 others remained missing after a multi-storey building collapsed Saturday afternoon in the western Indian resort state of Goa, said local TV channel Times Now. Rescuers were still searching for the missing and survivors in the debris of the building, said the report. The incident took place in Goa's southern Canacona district, located at the state's beach belt which is visited by many foreign tourists. Building collapse takes place from time to time in India due to running down conditions, congestion, over-inhabitation and illegal construction.
