At least 6 people were confirmed dead in Spain on Saturday following a fire in a house in the village of Tordomar in the province of Burgos in northern Spain.
The six victims, who all come from the same family were staying in the rural holiday home when the fire, which was thought to have been caused by a spark from a chimney falling on a sofa in which all of the victims are thought to have fallen victim to smoke inhalation.
The victims were three women aged 59, 36 and 35-year-old and three children aged between four and six.
Meanwhile five people were injured in the fire, including a seven month old baby and two adults.
The locality has decreed two days of mourning for the family, who had gathered in the house to celebrate their grandmother's (one of the victims of the fire) birthday.
