At least six people were killed when a car left the road and hit spectators during La Coruna rally in the north-west Spanish region of Galicia on Saturday, police said,dpa reported.

According to the online edition of El Pais, a pregnant woman, her partner and a girl were among those killed.

Sixteen people, including five children, were injured, some critically, it was reported.

Witnesses said the driver of the car lost control on a slight bend and left the road at Carral.
